With a background in engineering and restoration, RockSolid is very familiar with the methods and materials originally used in constructing the historic river walls and flood defences that are prevalent in this country.
Our approach is wholly collaborative and designed to simplify these types of projects, where multiple agencies and statutory bodies may be involved. RockSolid works closely with both Riparian owners, engineering firms, managing agents and the Environment Agency to remediate problems. An initial site inspection report includes site photographs, review of the original construction details if available, consideration of affected stakeholders and an initial findings report detailing the core issues identified. Often the report can then be used as the basis of discussions with the Environment Agency and form the start of designing any solution.
The implementation phase includes a detailed scope of works, securing permits from the Marine Management Organisation, Environment Agency and relevant Port Authority followed by the highly controlled management of specialist contracting teams. RockSolid uses some of the most advanced surveying tools in the market, operated by world-class surveyors and technicians. We produce an engineering ‘Inspection Grade’ model of the wall that is accurate to 1mm per pixel when viewed on screen. Our objective is always to become an expert in your river wall and to share this information with the stakeholders in order that the best solution can be provided.
